Hard to believe this is Cherie Jones’s debut novel.  Raw and powerful, “How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House” explores what happens when two worlds separated by race and class, collide.  Lala and her husband Adan, a petty criminal,  live on the beach in a small resort town in the Barbados.   In this scene, Lala contemplates her relationship with Adan, and has an encounter she wasn’t expecting.
